Where I talk about MLB 10 The Show Season 1 Game 1, some good links to check out, and RANTS!

MLB 10 The Show Season 1, Opening Day
Braves Vs. Cubs
I picked up this game at Target at the end of last year. I think it was the last of their PS2 games because it was tucked into a corner on a discount shelf. I'm going to play with my favorite team the Braves. I skipped spring training and will be starting with the team I have without making any trades off the bat as I usually do. I played a few games with it when I first got it but that was months ago. I haven't played any games for about a month.
The season started with a single game with the Cubs and then a gap until the first series of the season also against the Cubs. Weird but whatever, I'm going to try and play a series when I play the game. I'm starting out on Veteran Level which is the second level. I did that because I almost always suck at pitching on baseball games until I get to play them for a season or two.

Braves-3 Vs. Cubs-12
at Turner Field
Topps Player Of The Game: Aramis Ramirez{Cubs} 2 for 4, HR, and 3 RBI
     Winning Pitcher: C. Zambrano
     Losing Pitcher: D. Lowe

*We started the game off pretty good but had two really bad innings of pitching and even when I had the bases loaded a couple times I hit into two triple plays because I'm still trying to get use to base running on the game. Our time needs to improve the basics or its going to be a very long season.
*After the game against the Cubs I signed John Smoltz as a free agent and added him to my starting rotation. Now I have six starting pitchers which I think I'll need if my pitching play doesn't improve.

Where I talk about the degrees of my tech life, ALL CAPS words, and much more.

People have asked me why I only post links on here, or Facebook and not on Twitter. I don't have firm rules for this or anything when it comes to my internet use, its just how things have worked out for my personal ways of using these platforms.
It's true that I really don't even think about posting most links I find or create on Twitter but there are several reasons for this. I also don't RT much but that has to not being on the actually Twitter site that often and when I try to REPLY RT from my phone half the time it doesn't work.
The main reason for me not posting links on Twitter comes down to my belief that Facebook is more set up for that sort of thing but it also has a lot to do with my personal use of Twitter. I also don't post many pics on Twitter.
Now notice nowhere in there did I say you shouldn't use Twitter for posting links. This is just how I see my personal use of Facebook and Twitter. Do your thing with social media, enjoy it, and fuck anyone who tries to tell you how you are suppose to use things on the internet. Fuc'em.
     Just Fuck'em.
I don't have a smart phone, I actually have a really old Nokia T-Mobile XpressMusic phone; so when I get Twitter stuff sent to my phone, I have about 10 feeds sent to my phone, I can't click on links to view stuff so that type of thinking goes into how I use it. I mean I should at least read a story before ranting on it and reposting it, right?
If someone Tweets something with a link that I want to check out I send that Tweet to my email where I check it out when I get on a computer. And in the few cases where its something I have to check out right away and Mar is nearby I ask her if I can her phone. The same applies to email. I can't check email on my phone and that's why if you really want to get a hold of me and have my phone number text me or call and leave a message. If you don't have my number its best to leave a message for me on Facebook and Twitter and I'll try to get back to you as fast as I can.
This is my personal digital divide.
Which is a lot better than a lot of people I know. I might not have a smart phone but I have a cell phone. I might not have my own laptop but Mar lets me use hers. At least I have access to computers and such. Others aren't so lucky.
Many I use did post enough links to my Twitter and Facebook there didn't I?
     {Edit} Fuck, forgot two!

Cool links:
Unshelved gives a almost perfect definition of the internet.
Everyone who follows my blog knows how much I enjoy the web videos of John and Hank Green. Here's John talk about Why They Aren't On TV.
     Big fan of Aisha Tyler.
Hank Green talks about the working relationship with Gravitation. Gravitation: The Four Fundamental Forces of Physics #3 Does my brain make pot? Your Brain Makes Its Own Pot

Rants:
So the Mets are fine with one player getting a no hitter based off a bad call but are trying to get another player a no hitter by trying to get another "bad call" reversed? Really? One, that call was in the first inning so that's just stupid based off that point alone and two only a New York team would try this and not smell the bullshit on their own fingers. And to be fully clear, I don't like the Mets, I'm a Braves fan, but even with that bias I have towards them, this is bush league.
And keeping with sports. I don't like David Stern much but Jim Rome has made a career off pro wrestling rants and cheap trick "journalism" The only thing missing was for Rome to pay Stern to "flip a table" hang up on him.
When comic book companies release hardbacks and try to sale you on buying them instead of waiting for the paperback they usually hard bush the back up materials. This is bullshit. Backup materials. A couple sketches and maybe a script page is all much "Backup materials" as cool looking menus are bonus materials on a dvd. I'm not just looking at you DC Comics. But I am looking at you DC Comics. You just ant alone in my rant eyesight.
This is why every person should be ready to not only vote but also ready a plan for what to do if denied the right to vote and also what the do the day after the election.
When you use the word RAPE in any fashion it's an all caps word as I like to call it. As a writer, public figure, or someone who represents a company or group in any way you must know that certain words  are ALL CAPS words. It doesn't mean you can never use the word or that you should be censored for using the word but the same as with using the N word or RETARD what you have to know is one, what your meaning was as you are using the word and two, you have to see all the variations of how others will see your usage. Those variations might not be fair or true or might just be fair or true but in the end you have to show the intelligence of knowing going in, otherwise you are showing not only a lack of intelligence but also a lack of understanding of how those ALL CAPS words have been used to hurt others. And my big point to make here is when you act like "we didn't mean RAPE like in RAPE but like RAPE" in a apology is bat shit stupid. Video games like any other storytelling method can tell any sort of story but back peddling spineless cowardliness because you don't understand why a using the term rape might just a little piss people off.

Where I talk about Madden 11 Franchise Season 1 Game 3 and I also review Drama by Raina Telgemeier..

Madden 11, Franchise Season 1, Game 3
Bulldawgs{0-2} at Rams{0-2}

Bulldawgs-20 Vs. Rams-87

     Stats:
passing
-T.Tebow/7comp/30att/179yards/2td/3int/
-J.Mccown/6comp/13att/119yards/
rushing
-T.Tebow/55yards/8att/1td/
receving
-G.Olsen/6rec/98yds/1td/
-M.Bundy/2rec/89yds/1td/
defense
-D.Cross/10tackles/
     Divison Standings:
Cowboy 2-1
Eagles 2-1
Giants 1-2
Bulldawgs 0-3

*We started the first quarter actually playing pretty good on both sides of the ball and held it to a 7-0 Rams lead after the First Quarter. We missed a filed goal in the First Quarter but I was happy with our play over all. But things started to fall more and more apart in the Second Quarter and by Halftime the score was 45-14 Rams. As soon as a team builds any kind of lead it puts us in a situation of playing outside our game plan and right now we can't do that even for small period of time because of our defense. It didn't really get better from there as our defense totally fell apart and our offense wasn't much better, it was 66-20 after the Third Quarter and ended up 87-20 to end the game. Most of the Fourth Quarter was played with the second string players trying to get them some playing time.
*Though Tebow played better this game, his stats don't show it, but the other players dropped a lot of  his passes, I'm going to have to drop him back to running packages of plays and will be giving Josh McCown a chance to win the starting job at QB for the rest of the season. Right now receivers just aren't catching key passes Tim throws.
*I released the injured D. Dodge. It's kind of a crummy thing to do to do that to a injured player but I really didn't have any plans to bring him back next season. I had tried to trade him in the pre-season but there were no takers. He had fell to the third squad even before he was injured.
Next Game: Bulldawgs at Eagles

*Next week I'm going to start my FIFA 2002 season (I play with Liverpool. And yes that's a really old version of the game. Don't tell me, tell fucking Gamestop and wanting to charge me almost full price for a sports game that's three years old. Also doesn't help that I still play on a PS2 so no rentals for us.) I'm going to rotate between Madden 11(Bulldawgs), FIFA 2002(Liverpool), NCAA Football 10(Virginia Tech), and MLB 10 The Show(Braves). Maybe that will make game Mondays more interesting, especially if I keep getting my ass kicked on Madden.

Reviews:
Drama by Raina Telgemeier {ARC}
4 out of 5 stars

I got this ARC through Netgalley; which made me pretty happy. The last book I got through them was Courtney Summers new book This Is Not A Test. You can read my review of that book here. I highly recommend if you love zombies or just an in general great read check it out.
So I'm a fan of Netgalley because it leads me to be able to read some really cool story from books about zombies to one about about relationships that out drama the drama on stage.
I'm a big fan of Raina Telgemeier going back to her Baby Sitters Club books. I got to meet her when we were in New Orleans for ALA at last year. She was really nice. While there took the opportunity and I bought a copy of her book Smile, I review it here, and got her to sign it.
How I feel about that book has grown from it being very depressing to me to something that's just a joy to flip through over and over again.
She also signed my autograph book. If you ever get a chance to attend a event she is part of I recommend doing so.
Going in I really didn't know much about Drama. I hadn't even read much about what it was going to be about but she is one of those creators who I will check out any project they are involved with.
Raina Telgemeier is one of the few sequential storytellers where when I'm reading their books there are no panels, there are no gaps, I'm totally immersed in every second of the story as if I was watching a film. Comparing medias doesn't really work but I did mean that as a really big compliment but don't think it came across in what I wrote.
Drama surprised me in many ways but the biggest one was how quickly you fall beside these characters and get to know them. From introduction, to getting to know characters, to story jumps and moves, you are having so much fun before you know it the story is over and you are left smiling.
I didn't mean to pun there.

Check out some cool stuff:
I spent a lot of the weekend watching Euro 2012 while writing but there is also the realm of video sports games. Hank Games Without Hank. John Green discussing homosexuality in sports and goes up against Manchester Untied: Homosexuality and Prejudice in Football: The Miracle of Swindon Town #126.
If you like the ladies with differing levels of clothing check out Jimmy Palmiotti's Monday blog updates. Always beautiful pictures people send him and he finds online.
I love the work Felicia Day is producing online. Felicia Plays with Toilet Paper and Etc. Gamer Girl, Country Boy - Felicia Day & Jason Charles Miller
More cool videos: How to be More Productive...With Hank! and More on Mating & Monogamy and Thank You Hater! - by Clever Pie and Isabel Fay and yes I do watch a lot of web videos but then again its better than mindlessly watching the same episodes of whatever shit sitcom is on TV during writing breaks even though I really don't like those shit sitcoms that much. I like the videos I post in updates, they aren't time fillers, they are life enhancers. *INSERT TOOTHLESS GRIN HERE*
     I want this shirt.

Rants and screams:
With military suicides getting near the point of out pacing deaths on the battlefields tell me our government is taking care of our brave men and women. From someone who has had his life threatened for marching for peace by so called "Troop Supporters" and was once threatened by his boss that I would lose my job if I didn't wear a 9/11 pin I will tell you I'm not for marketing support for troops, I want real up front do something Mr. America with you flag in your back window. This isn't a one side or the other issue, this is a shameful issue for the whole country. We continue to wave our little flags and scream until our throats hurt with politics and gutless blind patriotism but when it comes down to it we fail the military and their families over and over again. Military Suicides on Record Pace, Outnumbering Battlefield Deaths
The problems in America aren't because there are too many liberals or conservatives but we are in a mess because politicians have learned how to play a lot of liberals and conservatives for fools in many games of "I'm on your side and only your side matters." I sometimes wonder if we are truly stupid to what our politicians are doing to us as a nation or just so scared we have convinced ourselves that our favorite lies are truths?
Yes because the ratio of student per teacher is a really good ratio. I wonder sometimes what kind of education some of these dipshits had? What we have is a push towards the schools not being able to operate at all and the government would love a stupider nation or schools being privatized and then business/gov control in total to what is taught and we have no say because they would be private businesses and the only choice in town. Romney Campaign Chair: ‘Taxpayers Really Do Want To Hear There Will Be Fewer Teachers’
A lot of people like to say to me "Oh, so I guess you think Americans are stupid to politics?" Ok, Yeah, ok. See that's a fact. So then I'm told I'm blind to Democrats faults and just like to run my mouth about the GOP. Nope, I'm not. Though lets be honest, the bat shit crazy bad guys are always more interesting. Here's another fact, I'm not even a registered Democrat. I think I was once but decided against it and I live in a state where not having a declared political party also means you have fewer voting right than everyone else. So if you want to say I'm a Democrat lover, I actually think Democrats couldn't find political courage if someone painted it with chocolate and stuffed it down their mouths. If you must know I'm more Libertarian than anything else. But you know real Libertarian and not dump truck dumb shit Ron Paul little l Libertarian. I bet in private he wears a t-shirt proudly that says- I'm a Republican fluffer.

The Fight

It's the time of year when my mind is pulled between watching baseball and writing.

BASEBALL, WILDLIFE, AND RAIN

Mar loves national parks  so we are visiting parks or historical places all the time and people are always asking me to write blogs about the trips. I'm a hack at fiction more less non-fiction. I'll try to start doing this more often though starting with the last two trips we undertook. I think it will stretch some writing muscles I don't use. Wait, I said Undertook? Is that just a hillbilly thing or did I get that right? I would only place these type entries in my LiveJournal because they are more personal entries but I love how photos look on my Blogger account. Two other things. Sorry for any weird formatting, I'm still learning how to make a good photo blog entry and also sorry for how crappy some of the photos are but they are from a very simple little T-Mobile flipphone and also if you are interested in more of my photos on the go {but for the most part a lot of cat photos} check out my  Twitpic site.

On March 13th we attended a Braves spring training game at Disney's Champions Stadium. The only thing I planned to buy was a game program and I got one as we arrived as the Blue Jays were taking bp. But the thing is I was surprised when someone came back from getting drinks with a really cool cap for me. It was a great day, nice weather and we didn't actually think the game was going to happen with it raining just about the whole week before but we ended up both getting sun burns, me big time.

Today we went to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral Naitonal Seashore.

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. This first group of photos are from the visitor center which is really nice with a lot of displays. The outside is really nice also with a walkaround boardwalk and man nature trails.

Canaveral Naitonal Seashore. We went here for a Park Ranger lead walk along the beach at Eddy Creek. The rain keep us from having the full event but it was still really cool. A very beautiful place to visit. I want to go back there one day and do some fishing if I get the chance.

I put this together really fast because if I wait I wont do it at all. I hope you enjoy the photos and if you have in Florida check out some of the places we visited.
