Where I talk about Podcasts, my writing plans, and cool shit....not warm shit..........never mind.

Wonder What I will talk about today?

   People asking about Chaos Read and Tin Universe. Basically what I did was push everything back a month. I've also decided Chaos Read will end with the conclusion of the In The Past story but will probably start back sometime in 2013.
   For those who enjoyed Chaos Read, I'm going to collect Chaos Read: In The Past soon in one ebook volume with some extras like a art cover and maybe a couple interior illustrations. When I do collect the stories it will still be on the You Set The Price! method as was the series. When the collection comes out will depend on finding funds to hire an artist and finding the right artist.
   I also have ideas for two other collection getting all of my stories on a few collections for those who would rather read the stories in that format. When I do the collections I will try to make them something special by including such things as art covers and interior art.
   I'm still doing monthly story releases but by not setting a stone cold dead release date it gives me a chance to try and make the stories as good as I can.
   The following it what I see from this month to the end of 2012.
   May: Chaos Read #5: In The Past part 4.
   June: Quoit.
   July: Tin Universe #11: The Hillbilly Jungle part 4.
   August: Chaos Read #6: In The Past part 5.
   September: Tin Universe #12: Mystery From Bunker Hill part 1.
   October: Tin Universe #13: Mystery From Bunker Hill part 2.
   November: NANOWRIMO {no story  release as I will be working on writing a NANO book}
   December: Tin Universe #14: Mystery From Bunker Hill part 3. {More than likely I will also probably be re-releasing a few older poetry collections in Dec.}

   While I'm here I'll also write out a blogging schedule. I wouldn't do this but people have asked me about it and also told me I should do it. {though how much I keep to this is all up to life and what I feel like writing about.}
   Monday: Video game updates. I talk about my latest wins and loses and screams and throwing of controllers while playing video games. For the most part I only play sports games.
   Tuesday: I'll talk about podcasts, webshows, and webcomics that I like. I hope in the future to turn Tuesday into my own vlog day but that will happen whenever I get up the courage to do it.
   Wednesday: I'll highlight a projects of mine from the past or present or something coming up. Total and complete self-promotion.
   Thursday: Music Video playlist. I'll post YouTube music videos and maybe talk about what the songs mean to me.
   *also every blog will include cool things I've come across online and my rants.

Where I talk about being overwhelmed by my own weaknesses as a writer

   Fatigued, overwhelmed.... weak? I'm feeling those things as a writer right now and it's not all about writing but I have wanted to talk about it here for a few weeks. And it might not be all about writing but anyone who is a writer knows everything is all about writing, everything effects it, everything feeds it, and everything attacks it.
   I was afraid of how it would make me look to address these things, mainly because of my lack of ability to express how I'm feeling. Being weak, having weaknesses is easy when you deny them to yourself. Call me what you want for that statement but it's true.
   People have always asked me why I decided to start self-publishing and make it my main seek and destroy point for writing and up until now I've never talk about the core reason. There are many including a very important one in that I think self-publishing is at the reach of power for artists like no other time in history. This is the time to wrestle things to the story fully. But there is only one core reason for my self-publishing. The reason that made me make the jump and take the shots I've taken for doing this.
   That core reason comes down to life and more so the threat of approaching death. I haven't taken care of myself when it comes to my health and this is from someone who started out born shattered and with parts missing and not working correctly. But now I know one truth beyond many others. I'm not going to live to 50 or 60. Just not going to happen. I'm not depressed about it, not sad about, but its a fact that swims in how I feel daily by the minute and hour. As a mechanic might say if I brought in an old car that just broke down, "Too many issues. I could fix but you don't have the cash."
   Every writer, every artists wants to say here is my work. Hands holding out those things that filled our dreams and nightmares for others to intake. I took upon self-publishing because it's what I was born to do as a writer but also because it's what I need to do to learn and also what I have to do because of circumstances of life.
   I'm really happy with my writing right now. I'm like doing monthly short story series. I like the stories I'm putting out. I like have much I'm learning with each release from the writing of each story, to the release process of each story, to the feedback I've gotten good and bad from each story. I love what I have planned in the future for these series and other stories but fatigued, overwhelmed.....weak?
   When I say fatigued its not by the work load of doing two monthly short story series but fatigued by my own weaknesses. The overwhelmed part comes to the focus I'm lacking sometimes because of health issues. No excuses when it comes to the quality of my writing but I've faced focus issues all my life and but right now I don't have the medication to address those old issues and not having health insurance to address new ones have punched up the lack of focus that is truly my worst issue. It's not that I'm crumbled in a corner with pain, the pain is truly a destructive distraction.
   I know my future as a writer is one of digital publishing. That's the footsteps for my future and its actually always been there. I just didn't see it for a long time because I was caught up in what others saw as success. What others saw as what a "writer" was.
   The internet, the digital technological atmosphere is my canvas. It's up to me to put something on that canvas.
   I started doing monthly short story series as both a creative stance, business venture, and also a learning exercise. I've enjoyed doing them so much but being in a state of my life were concentration is tough because of health reasons my full focus just isn't my full focus. And I need at least the full focus that I have within me when I'm editing my own writing. It's hard enough for a good writer to edit their own work and then you look at me.
   I'm talked here before about how no sentence is easy for me. Over time I've learned my writing speed but now its my goal to learn and harness my editing and revision pace. Learning so many lessons so late might be more of a cruel taught towards me by my muses but then again I'm use to people trying to bully me. Trying and failing.
   I prepared for Chaos Read and Tin Universe in 2011 with almost a full year of writing short story rough first drafts. Then I thought I could edit them and get them out on a monthly basis. And I think I could do that if those were the only things in my life. Again, the focus isn't there right now and if you're going to stand at the plate and hit a 100mph fastball you need tunnel vision focus. Also if you are going to hit a knuckle ball which would probably more represent my writing you need focus, really more.
   So with all of that being said I'm going to still shoot for Chaos Read and Tin Universe coming out on a monthly basis but I'm not going to set it in stone. That way I'm not releasing things when they are not ready and also not ripping at my skin every time I miss a deadline. Some might say this is unprofessional, I call it realism. I hate that it has come to this but trying to water out the Titanic with a bucket really is stupid.
   The next issue of those series will come out when I feel they are ready.
   Chaos Read will continue as is but Tin Universe will change from multi-part stories to one off self-contained stories within that universe and I will be working also on Tin Universe novels at the same time.
   Both series will keep their current pricing methods with Chaos Read being You Pick The Price! and Tin Universe $0.99usd.
   This change up with these series will keep me knee deep in the learning workout and I can not talk enough about how much I have learned from doing them as a writer but the changes will also allow me to focus more. And that's the big word focus. I have never been afraid to put myself out there raw but I also want to put out the best sushi writing I have.

Where I talk about Marvel movies, getting behind but being ok with it, organizing, and Free Comic Book Day.

Mar didn't have to work over the weekend so we just spent time together reading, eating, and last night started watching Marvel movies leading up to the Avengers. That meant I had a great weekend but I didn't get a chance to do much of anything else; which I'm fine with that because the woman I love is the most important thing in my life and no matter what these types of simple weekends, you can't take them back from me, because they mean that much.

We watched Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk last night. Still love Iron Man so much but I'll say something here that I've argued with friends over and over about this point- The Incredible Hulk wasn't a terrible movie. What it was, was a movie that didn't need to be made. It felt when it came out and still feels like they made largely the same movie as the first one. The only real purpose this movie had was to fit in references that would tie into the other Marvel movie line. People say Wolverine Origins and Captain America were made to tie in, and I disagree those movies stood on their own, but I will say the only purpose whatsoever for The Incredible Hulk was a look ahead to the future and the Avengers movie.

Oh, and my favorite between the Hulk and the Incredible Hulk was the Hulk. At least Ang Lee saw that a Hulk movie needed something different in its look or it was just going to be a lazy in story boring action film. Hulk has and always will be a better fit as a TV show. Hell, if you write well crafted stories the Hulk wouldn't even have to be in every episode. Bruce Banner as a character is a very interesting one but with a big blockbuster movie people want blockbuster payout and unless you turn it into a disaster film, which I think is the only way to go with a Hulk movie, then you will fail.

I didn't even open my laptop over the weekend. I needed to get away from the computer and writing so bad that being away felt so great because when I picked up a notebook to write for a few minutes last night after Mar went to bed it was a glorious feeling. You just need to step back sometimes. But with that having been said I still need another day or two to finish off Chaos Read #5 which was due to release today. I hate missing deadlines. I'm sorry to anyone who was waiting to read it today. I'll have that ready to upload by the end of the week for sure.

On to more serious subjects, I didn't play Madden 11 Sunday so no Monday Madden 11 update on my team the Richmond Bulldawgs. I'll play their third pre-season game this coming Sunday and update on the following Monday.

Sometimes even if it makes more work for you later you need to step away from things before said weaknesses in said things that are a huge part of your life drive you off the cliff you may have been standing near. Stated with more clarity- My stupid was getting the best of me.

This week for me will mainly be filled with finishing up Chaos Read and trying to get our apartment organized. I need to get my writing area streamlined. To actually use the filing cabinet we have will be a good start. To organize my reference materials. Then after I get my stuff straight I will tackle Mar's crafting area and then the rest of the apartment. Need to get these tasks started to see what I need to do more in the future to keep us from almost drowning in our own mess.

Again no regrets on taking a weekend off from everything but I am behind now. I hope to get the chance go to Free Comic Book Day at my local comic shop Famous Faces And Funnies. They always have a great FCBD but even if I can't attend the day I'm going to head there a day or two after to pick up some trades I've been looking forward to reading. And always remember your local comic shop pays for those "free comics", they don't get them for free; so make sure when you attend the event to buy something.

I do know one thing about this week I'm going to see the Avengers because even though it might be tough for me to miss one of my favorite holidays, FCBD, I'm  not going to miss something I'm been waiting for all my life.

*throws up geek gang sign*

I wanted to write a really short blog update today. That sure didn't happen.
