April 2015 Lootcrate

This months Lootcrate was so cool. t-shirt, drives, ties, and cards to play with. When I got the box I thought it was really small and it must just have a bunch of pins or something. No, this small package was full of big fun.

Again, as always the box was really cool.

Now, I finally have a bow tie and it's a RPG one with dragons on it. Now just to lose some weight so I don't like like a fat Pee Wee Herman wearing it.

Holy Stark sigil !!!

This is really cool.

See what I mean, awesome.
And Mar grabbed it right away.

And here comes some Princess Bride greatness with this deck of cards. One of my all time favorite movies.

And the crown goes to.

I've never played D&D but I love this shirt.

Mar put in her claim to this Harry Potter luggage tag right off.

And more Game Of Thrones fun with some magnets.

Universal London And Beyond

Sunday we had some fun...

Before anything else drinks had to be had...

There were train trips...

Stops for the news of the day...

Getting lost down dark places...

And at times it got a little hot...

But we didn't have to ride everywhere as we had bus tickets...

And on the train things happen, things that must not be talked about...

Places had food and we ate it all...

Mar found a friend...

We spotted some history...

And I met a soul mate...

Between all of those things I joined MIB, battled a Mummy, and watched Mar and The Queen hunt churros in their natural habitat.

Me: Stop whinning you got your cofee now.
     Mar: Accio dictionary

     Mar:

Brian Leakage from Rescue Rangers to TV Flashbacks

On Fridays I recap the Brain Leakage from my past week of social media puking. If I repeat myself here sometimes it's because I might start a thought on Twitter but then want to expand it more on Facebook or Tumblr. Remember doing this is one part recap for those who don't follow me on my other sites but second and the main part and reason for doing it is as an archive of things.

     Twitter:
Trying to make homemade white gravy for breakfast. Fingers crossed.
I know making homemade white gravy is more $ but I wanted to try. Doesn't look good so far :(
The homemade white gravy turned out good but not as good as the instant packets.
After a big breakfast watching Adventure Time and reading with rain coming down hard outside.
My book is Doctor Who: 11 Doctors 11 Stories and Mar is reading The Port Chicago 50
What? What? So is Lex Luther going to be all sandels and Zuckerberg douchey?
If Eisenberg is Lex they must be going for a young evil tech guy thing, which could work.
I love the idea of Irons as Afred.
The DC movie people are feeling a pressure to be bold to catch up to Marvels momentum. That could pay off huge or crash big.
I cant wait to see if it works.
Though I want Jonah Hill to be Otis
Mar"Man, Outkast gotta come on when I'm leaving!" She likes Outkast and singing Roses as she goes out the door.
No blog update yesterday because of computer problems. Same today, in the shop. Maybe late tonight, no way I can do one on the Nook.
Bad computer days are what notebooks are made for. ... Not really, but no time not to write. Not enough time left.
Saying creators need to move on when at the same time we are spending hours talking about what they say that we don't like is telling.
Maybe fans need to think things over because I think in the future more and more creators are going to start pulling back from interacting..
because lets face it. Fans reactions to things are starting to get crazy.
My view is creators don't owe fans anything and fans should see they don't own the work.
Creators can benefit for good treatment of fans but they don't owe you more work, good work, to sign your book, or anything.
And one last thing please stop with the destroyed and raped my childhood. It's insulting to people who have been raped.
"Fans made Harry Potter what it is" No, J.K. Rowling made H.P. what is is.
Fans read it. It's the wording about all this mess that pisses me off. She is sad, she should move on, this is ruining things for fans.
She's sad. A lot of people would think people sitting here talking about a writers process of writing and thinking about her book is sad.
Some people think a lot of fandom activities are sad but a writer talking about their work is sad. That's total bullshit.
I wish Rowling would release a lot of all the things she changed in the book. Troll the internet J.K.
The people complaining. If she released a book tomorrow with pages from other drafts most of the complainers would be TAKE MY MONEY!
Off the internet to clean but first.Thank you J.K. Rowlings for showing you are human.
If she actually did say those things. Thanks for showing us that just like very other writer things don't just fall on the page for you...
and that a story can still haunt you even when its finished.
No Sunday Night Movie Night tonight :) One of us has a bad throat.
So its a night of Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Worlds End with beef stew instead.

If George Zimmerman and Kanye West fought there would be more douche floating in the air than a Yankees/Mets World Series.
Computer put away and now its time for laundry, dishes, and general cleaning. Background for all this is Last Of The Summer Wine.
4 out of 5 stars for Treasures From The First 50 Years- Doctor Who: The Vault
Just blew a friends mind by saying one of my favorite scifi universes is the G.I. Joe cartoons.
When I was a kid I pictured the full version of U.N.I.T. from Doctor Who being like G.I. Joe with tech weapons and vehicles and such.
So my day starts with a glass exploding in my hand while doing dishes. Either I'm tense today or that glass was weak?
Now I'm going to be stressed for a weak about getting it all cleaned out of the sink.
FYI, I'm all in one piece, just a couple small cuts.
Just cut 3000 good words from a story because it didn't fit the story. Wonder if that will ever get easy?
I liked ep 1 and 2 of Sherlock season 3 a lot more than ep 3. Maybe I was thinking something bigger?

4 out of 5 stars for Avengers Arena: Boss Level. Hate to see this series go but happy they didn't stretch it out too long.

Todays haul from my lcs @FFFComics last three Y The Last Man trades, some Doctor Who and Saga comics, and Ms. Marvel 1
Loved Ms. Marvel #1. But come on Marvel, the ads at the end take the reader out of the build to finish.
Anyways, stupid ad placement aside, check out Ms. Marvel #1. Good characters, story, and art.
I really dont buy singles but I try #1's to see if I might want to buy the trades. I'm sure I'll be buying Vol1 of Ms. Marvel
Wait! Groupon has Ben-Wa Balls!! Someone call Archer.

I Hope they get Tom Selleck and Harrison Ford to do the voices in the Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers movie.

Saying creators need to move on when at the same time we are spending hours talking about what they say that we don't like is telling. Maybe fans need to think things over because I think in the future more and more creators are going to start pulling back from interacting because lets face it fans reactions to things are starting to get crazy. I went we came into a time when creators started to interact with fans but I think because of fans that will slow stop. I had a good discussion last night with both sides on the J.K. Rowlings interviews. My view is creators don't owe fans anything and fans should see they don't own the work. Creators can benefit for good treatment of fans but they don't owe you more work, good work, to sign your book, or anything including trying to watch what they say after a book is released. And one last thing please stop with the destroyed and raped my childhood. It's insulting to people who have been raped and really makes you look stupid. She is sad, she should move on, this is ruining things for fans. Ok, she's sad. A lot of people would think people sitting here talking about a writers process of writing and thinking about her book is sad. Some people think a lot of fandom activities are sad but a writer talking about their work is somehow the sad thing? That's total bullshit. I wish Rowling would release a list of all the things she changed in the book. Troll the internet J.K. The people complaining might explode. And if she released a book tomorrow with pages from other drafts most of the complainers would be TAKE MY MONEY! So not only did the internet go batshit but it seems they maybe went backshit about something that wasn't even said by the writer but I still don't give a shit if she did.
Internet fandoms when butthurt
Misery is fandoms middle name

I've learned when you don't agree with them, Harry Potter fans can be one of the most hostile fandoms. So much love, so much hate. HEY, it's like the Bible but with better writing.

I love having discussions on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, emails, and all but there is always a fear that people will take things too personal because of the limits of the ways of communicating. I like talking about things, big things and small things, and people don't have to agree with me in any way but its so easy to misinterpret something as someone attacking your opinion. It's hard enough enough not to take things personal when talking with someone face to face but when face to face there are more cues to read to see what the true message being sent is. I think we all sometimes need to take a breath and remember differing opinions are that, differing. I think your wrong about J.K. Rowling, you think your right. I hate Walking Dead, you love Walking Dead. I think Doctor Who is the greatest thing creation has ever created...well, we'll leave that one. These other side opinions don't make us enemies. It's that type of thinking that pushes us down bad roads that are examples of why there is a dangerous breakdown of communication in our world when it comes to everything from politics to fan wank talk. Discord and variations of views is how we grow as individuals and groups. You take that away and its replaced with conversations ending only in anger and that's not growth, education falls away and the different and the different from you is always bad.

So my day starts with a glass exploding in my hand while doing dishes. Either I'm tense today or that glass was weak? Now I'm going to be stressed for a weak about getting it all cleaned up out of the sink. FYI, I'm all in one piece, just a couple small cuts.

I really didn't find anything wrong with what Moffat said? Looks more like we really want to pick his words apart to lash out at him. And the guys says enough stupid stuff you don't have to do that. And I hate that a site I love like The Mary Sue basically says if you disagree don't comment within the article. I think Moffat has gotten too wrapped up in his over over complex detailed creative writing skills to the point of people having to watch seasons of Doctor Who five times just to enjoy them a little but there is also this "Moffat" that very much reminds me of the "Obama" chants when people just want to criticize and not discuss with intelligence.

Reading through some entertainment sites during lunch writing break and came to a thought. Seems like no matter how small and independent in their thinking they all start to slowly become disguised attack sites posting masked fan reactions to stuff and not fully realized criticism and discussion.

I know everybody is doing the Facebook look back videos but mine showed nothing but pictures and posts about Mar or the cats because the only way I get likes or shares is if things aren't about me so sad sack me and my ego can't handle it. Also for your enjoyment...

My kingdom for mash potatoes and gravy from Hardees. I'll throw in the horse and the handmaids if a three piece chicken meal with biscuits and a large is included in the deal.

The question of whether we should raise the minimum wage is a complex issue. It's not a either or thing and as most issues you need to educate yourself about it. But when people say they don't believe in the minimum wage, what they are basically saying is they think it should be ok for businesses to pay people 50cents an hour. And if you think companies wont do that you sir are stupid. This is a my passive aggressive rant of the day.

Where I remind you of a great book that came out yesterday, review Before Watchmen Silk Spectre #1 and talk about God(aka Alan Moore)

For some reason just over the past few months I've gotten more than a few emails about me mainly buying trade paperbacks when it comes to comic books. "You aren't supporting the talents." "You are hurting the industry." "This is one of the reasons comic book stores are closing."
Ok, Comic Book Police, just chill your bag and boarded short pants. Just as I have the choice of not sucking on Alan Moore's tit, I can buy trades without your self-righteous {while probably downloading illegal copies}throws coming my way.
What I do a lot is try a few issues of a series to see if I might want to buy the trades when and if they come out. There are tons of trades out there already I know I'll like based on characters, artists, and writers alone, but I try to check out new stuff also to support what is going on currently.
I can't afford nor do I have the living space to buy monthlies and trades. I have in total now, after doing a clearing out a few years ago to a charity, four long boxes and all of those contain a complete run of the old original Valiant universe. The only other floppies I have are Doctor Who books and a few signed copies.
On the subject of Doctor Who I'm probably going to be going trade only with those soon. I buy any Doctor Who books so I might just wait for the trades. Mainly that's a decision based on money and apartment space.
I wish there was someway you could turn in issues to your local comic shop and maybe get a trade discount? Then I might buy the floppies more often but that probably isn't feasible for stores to do?
Plus those single issues I buy to try books out go to friends, libraries, and strangers; which promotes said series and talents. There shouldn't be this geeky dividing line between those who buy their comics every month in single issues and those who buy trades. Oh, and by the way I know people who spend a ton of money weekly at their lcs and they would never even think of buying floppies. Do you want to drive these people away from the industry?
Now if you want something to rant about, lets talk hardcovers.....

Reviews:
A really cool book came out yesterday. I was planning to write this blog entry then but was busy trying to doctor up the laptop a bit. Seems to be running a lot better *fingers crossed* The book I speak of is This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers, you can find my review here as I read a ARC of it a few months ago but I'm still going to pick up a copy for my Summers collection. Go buy it here and here or here or here or here and here or your local books store independent or chain. All those links I found on the writers site but thought I'd mention here again. Go buy it. Someone actually says the Zed word in this book unlike another book I enjoy but its creator, not so much. Robert Kirkman is such a pretentious boob. Courtney Summers on the other hand is made of dolls heads, piano solos, nice juicy sick writing, and many more stuffs of awesome.
Check out the book trailer:
Another book I gave five stars to is just out in paperback. You can find my review for Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma here. I highly recommend this book.
     BEFORE WATCHMEN: SILK SPECTRE #1
3 out of 5 stars
*I promise I'll try and keep this from becoming a rant on the two faced bullshit of some peoples attacks and boycott of this project while still buying other books from DC and Marvel. With that one sentence rant about not ranting out of the way. I picked up this book before Minutemen #1 because of Amanda Conner's artwork. I really love her work. The art is really good here also so no disappointment there. With this first issue I found myself thinking ok, that's it? Maybe that feeling was from the build up but I felt let down. The story is ok but again maybe unfair build up within me. I'm going to check out the second issue and the first issue of the other Before Watchmen series but trades are in mainly in the future for me for Before Watchmen.
STORMWATCH VOLUME ONE: THE DARK SIDE
4 out of 5 stars
STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS: STRANGE ALLIES
3 out of 5 stars

Cool links to check out:
I really wish more people would step up for this project. If I had the cash I would throw some in, makes me feel bad. It would be really disappointing with so many people crying that they only see the same old thing over and over that a great project being told in an original way like The Garlicks doesn't get made. Go throw in some cash, spread the word, or both.

Rants and screams:
I really love that the history of our whole fucking nation is filled with speech after speech about how we hate countries that hold down freedom of speech, mislead its citizens, and fix elections through strong handed methods of politics but that is just what we are doing right now in America. The idea of the American Dream might be a  generationally shared delusion but that doesn't mean we should be shitting on the idea every chance we get.
Elections like funerals end up being about anything but the persons most effected by their outcomes- i.e. the poor and the dead, and more about the people standing strong no matter what- your rich, your politicians, and your Uncle Ernie who is being stuffed with hay and dog shit. Uncle Ernie is just dead, I bet you're regretting not letting him barrow your copy of Tecmo Bowl when he was sick at age 5 now. Yep, I knew it, that's the only reason you're crying, you know that scarred his heart and the reason for the heart attack years later on the shitter.
The subject of this link doesn't bother me because this is parody but the comment near the end, "As soon as DC does a Harry Potter comic while JK Rowling stands on the sidelines complaining, we’ll talk." DC can't do that because there are contracts probably in place that say they can't. As far as my knowledge goes Mr. Moore signed a sucky contract the same as a lot of creators have had to do over the years to make money. If he had any legal ground to stand on he would probably be suing but instead his is letting his acolytes turn him into a martyr. He got screwed, bad contract, should have read it more carefully, or not signed it at all. DC might be big douche bags and so is Marvel when it comes to their histories dealing with creators but Come On Man? Lets stop this bullshit that Before Watchmen is like the worst thing to ever happen to a creator. Go tell that to Bruce Lee's family about Kung Fu or Steve Diko about all of his hard work or the thousands of creators who have done work for companies and never got a dime one and still owed money years later. Alan Moore created Harold Potter long before he turned him into the Antichrist
Mar called me  the other day and I didn't know she had me on speaker phone so I was my normal self and I guess there was people near by. Ooops. I told her she shouldn't have given me a live mic. Where I talk about The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter but mainly in photos because photo heavy blog entries are a pain and I mention Tonks tits

Mar ready to head to Hogwarts, but she wasn't happy to find that there weren't any Head Girl pins in sight. She's going to give her teachers headaches.

The other Wizard stupider than Ron Weasley and Harry Potter would be me.

Mar and her sister walking because the only picture I took of her I was told I'm dead if I post it.

The first question is- Where to first? Fuck it, lets cut classes on the first day. The two nerds I had with me protested but I dragged them with me.

The Entrance To The World
I just had to play act a little up there commenting on the first few photos because the place creates that sort of fun within you.
We had planned to go to The Wizarding World Of Harry ever since it opened but keep putting it off because we didn't want to go without any money to spend.
We decided Wednesday was a good time because we could also celebrate by taking Mar's sister along because she just graduated from high school and college at the same time.

First stop, Butter beer. I downed mine quick. No matter how much you may think its just cream soda, it isn't. IT'S FUCKING BUTTER BEER, GEORGE WASHINGTON.

Ollivander's was pretty cool. This is worth waiting in whatever line there is if you love the books or have kids with you. Or if you HAVE A HEART. It's pretty cool.

Zonko's Joke Shop

Honey Dukes

Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry

Good view from here, though the screaming Mandrake roots are loud. You have to go through here before facing dragons and spiders. WHY DID THERE HAVE TO BE SPIDERS! SPIDERS! shouldn't wizards have wicked high kind of Raid?

Owl Post

Gringotts. You know if you are running low on galleons.

Hagrid's house. Probably needs fire insurance.

Islands Of Adventure had a lot of other stuff to offer after we explored the locales of Mr. Potter.

Seuss Landing was really cool. We ended up eating at Circus Murkburgerkus Cafe. That's what I keep calling it. Good burgers and chicken with little birdies flying around freely.

The Lost Continent was pretty cool. I loved the look of the outside and the show was funny. The effects and atmosphere was a nice change of pace and it was indoors which you need sometimes at a park.

Super Hero Island was cool. I loved all the little Marvel references. I geeked out to this one.  I found it funny that the bathrooms were labelled as Sub Mariner.

Jurassic Park was where we all got wet and our last stop. On a really hot day it was needed.

This for those who think my blog is always too "harsh" "rash" "stupid" "blasphemous" "rude" While I was typing this I was also masturbating to thoughts of Tonks tits. Go with God and peace. I'm going with thoughts of colored hair.
THE COLORS, OOOOO THE COLORS.
Though to be honest the person who said me talking about masturbation in a older post was "blasphemous" I don't really think you know the meaning of that word. Now if I talked about Jesus masturbating, that might could be seen by some as blasphemous. Just doing my part to educate. If you are going to yell nonsense at me, do so with some education.
