Featured shows:
the monthly flagship show adapting every Tin Universe story one chapter every month. Also special episodes as we talk with artists, publishers, and crazies in general.

Every month three friends spend a good couple hours together eating, drinking. letting off steam, and being best friends for ever and eva. It's a mess to edit this madness but a lot of fun to be there.
a bi-monthly audio fiction series that has to be every other month because it’s whole purpose is to piss off assholes.
weekly show where to sleep a very tired, and sometimes drunk writer dumps out a wasteland of words and thoughts from his brain so he can reboot in the morning. A journal style show that more resembles days of Diaryland and daily Blogger updates than a normal podcast with rants on politics, faith, pop culture, and pain, tests of every beep and whistle during a podcasting learning process.
Also continuing in 2017 and going weekly are BRAIN LEAKAGE, our Doctor Who focused show, and I WISH I WAS BRAVE, our classic Valiant comics show.
Starting in 2017 all Tin Pod Radio shows will also include an original audio story. Plus irregular shows when schedules fits, and fill ins when things go tits up.

Doctor Who Guess Who?
Mar made a Doctor Who version of Guess Who? after we found a used copy of the game at the Goodwill and she found a guide to doing it online. We played several games with the total in the end being Mar winning 5 games to 4. If we come across more used Guess Who games we plan to make a classic Doctor Who version, a Harry Potter version, and a comic book version.

PI Day 2015
Our PI Day contained....
The 4th Doctor. He's our co-pilot.
While Geocaching Mar approached a chubby creature that wasn't ready to be up yet.
Seeing these valleyball stands in Indialantic made me think of the Hunger Games. And then Mar started singing The Hanging Tree.
I told Mar she looked like Mac from Always Sunny In Philadelphia in this sleeveless Stitch shirt.
We didn't find pie but I found cock... cola and cake.
And Mar found her something with bacon.
It was a maple bacon bar doughnut.
See.
Again for the bacon church fans one more picture.
My cake tasted like Serbert icecream. And my cock...soda tasted so good. Yes, that joke keep going on and on all day.
To end the day I found a new hat for work and new wallet since mine has been falling apart for a while now.

Wednesday While Writing there was daemons, sun dried tomato hummus, and triage
If you follow me on Twitter you will know we got a trial of Hulu Plus and I've been watching much nonstop when home alone nothing but classic Doctor Who and so today is no different and I'm started today watching one of my all time favorite Doctor Who stories- The Daemons.
Maybe between Doctor Who stories I'll catch up on internet videos.
But then again DOCTOR WHO!
As always on Wednesday I'm going to briefly talk about the things I'm watching as I go so I hit play on Doctor Who: The Daemons.
The Daemons is another one of those really good 3rd Doctor era stories that would have made a really good movie for its time without much being changed. It has that great 70's British scifi/horror feel to it.
Oh, and a little note that came into my brain last night while watching more 3rd Doctor and its the more I watch of that era, the more I think it might be one of the best if not the best of any time of Doctor Who's long history.
Some YouTube series I watched while eating a snack of sun dried tomato hummus and crackers:
- Healthcare Triage: The Healthcare System of the United States I love this series. It takes really complicated and a lot of times things full of misleading information on the internet and Healthcare Triage breaks it down a way that reveals the facts.
- AmandasChronicles: What YouTubers are HIDING Amandas Chronicles is one of my favorite online shows. Funny, creative, and always doing things that make you think.
- My Gimpy Life - Ep 6: Day Jobs The show returns for a second season. You should check it out, its a really good show.
- The Chemical Mind - Crash Course Psychology #3 I was so happy when I heard they were doing a Crash Course Psychology and loving it so far.
- sexplanations: Ask Lindsey #9: Humor, First Times, and Spitting Sexplanations is a great show that everyone should watch and also let their teenagers watch also and also also use it to talk about issues with their kids and also with your lovers and friends.
Now back to writing and more Doctor Who with The Mutants. I can't remember if I've ever seen this story? As I've said before my local PBS station only place a few 3rd Doctor stories but I've heard over and over and over and over again over the years how bad The Mutants was maybe that's why I think I've seen it. Well, anyways. I hope its good.
How many Doctor Who stories has Geoffrey Palmer been in? He improves everything so it's always good. He's one of my favorite British actors and brings so much to every role he plays.
While the dish washer was being too loud to hear the TV, as our TV only has one speaker that works, I put Pandora on shuffle:

When I cam back I decided I'd finish The Mutants another time and put in Absolutely Fabulous and dived back into the story. The neighbors are still being assholes so my characters are going to pay the price for their loud music.

Someone is zombifying athletes at Clear Cut High School in Utah. Lucky the school has its own young superhero in the person of Mildred Betbeze to try and figure out what's going on. Pep rallies, cheerleaders, new kids in the neighborhood are just some of things our hero and her sidekick slash best friend Aisha have to deal with in the first book in Tin Universe's new middle grade series.

Under The Training Book: The Avengers, A Triumvirate Christmas, and Random Poop
Sample of random stuff I send to friends in Facebook in private messages: If I could type as fast on a phone as I do on a keyboard {as I'm doing now} I would send a personalized message on the half hour of every hour to everyone I know just say NAME, POOP. For example: Queen, Poop. It's a good thing I can't.
And that's one of many reasons I only have 69 people on my Facebook.
Watched a bunch of The Avengers the other day while Mar was off to pick up one of her sisters at college and someone asked me a question a lot of The Avengers fans get asked. Which is better the Cathy Gale- Don't Look Behind You or the Emma Peel- The Joker? I say The Joker. Rigg shows fear and strength together from moment to moment.
I wish they would get all of The Avengers on Netflix because every time I watch my DVDs I think what if they mess up because you can't buy them anymore. I only have a couple Cathy Gale episodes and the 68 set of Tara King and one of The New Avengers, matter of fact I've never seen The New Avengers.
The Avengers is in my Top-Ten TV Shows Of ALL TIME!!!! Love this show and it had a great influence on my humor and the way I approach some stories I write.
While Mar was in Orlando they stopped off at a British store there. We have one near us, which is much better, but why not try to see what this one has? Mar's mom bought groupons for the place for everyone but we will never go back there because they were such jerks.
Everything her family tried to get the people said the groupons wouldn't cover because the items are seasonal. They considered all cookies seasonal, all Doctor Who stuff seasonal, just about everything seasonal. They also said you had to spend over the groupon amount; which is bullshit. In the case of these types of groupons if you don't spend the groupon full amount you just loose the rest, you don't get anything back.
Ok, one business that will never get another dime from us.
Our first Sunday Night Movie night in a few weeks. It was gift exchange day for the Triumvirate as we watched Harry Potter movies, went to see the new Hobbit, and ate breakfast for lunch.
Now for some shameless self-promotion.

Doctor Who, Boobies, and Beer
Early yesterday I went into a Doctor Who rant on Facebook; which can be a dangerous thing for me when it comes to Doctor Who. It's like a crackhead visiting an old friends house that just so happens to moonlight as a crack house.
When talking with my friend Touch about the whole spill of what number regeneration and number body is the Doctor currently on I hit rant point and paragraphs came out of me.
And more now.
The fucking body and regeneration thing being different numbers is just stupid. If that's the case what number is The Watcher that helped the 4th Doctor regenerate or The Valeyard? It's taking a concept that's complicated to a lot of people to begin with and making it even more completed by trying to explain away things perfectly. There's a difference between creator and fan games, that's a fan game.
Every time anyone connected with the show tries to explain it they just make it more convoluted. They should of just said when time was changed in regards to the Time War John Hurt's Doctor became a paradox and that's why he regenerated right away into the 9th Doctor, it was time correcting itself. Because that's basically what the story said but NOOOO Moffat and everybody has to feed into fans bullshit and try to please everyone while actually pleasing no one.
Over and over again people seem to forget fan stands for fanatic. Fans are like a spoiled child by nature. You don't give them candy because they are crying or being good for once, you do sparingly but without a pattern they can take advantage of.
My problem isn't with people talking about this whole, that's a lot of the fun in any fandom, my problem is with the people working with the show talking about something instead of showing it in a story. Either show it like you want to be in a story{which I had thought they had done} or just say that's for everyone to have a view on.
Because in the end the internet has this irrational hate on for Moffat and he isn't doing himself any favors by feeding the beast.
This is the third thing I read him say about this since the special and other people with the show have made comments. Just show with the stories, that's all.
Later while helping a relative troubleshoot a website problem{You know you don't know shit about something technology based when I'm helping you with tech stuff.}I watched a few episodes of my favorite web series, I'm so behind but I only made a comment on one of them. Sorry to disagree with one of my Gods in John Green but American beer isn't the best. It's only function isn't one of taste but to allow idiots to drink as much beer as possible with other idiots cheering them on because its mainly piss water or around here Brevard County water. Maybe they brew all American beer secretly in this area?
Another of my Gods is David Lubar. Speaking of him, David Lubar on Twitter is one of the best things about Twitter. Such as = "Fox's Megyn Kelly tells viewers that Jesus was white. I guess it's just a matter of semantics. Or Semitics. Jesus wasn't white. Everyone knows Jesus is an Hispanic name."
We went out after Mar got home to find some last minute gifts and craft stuff. While Mar was looking for something at the Dollar Store I was talking to someone in an exchange on Facebook about the issue of students being allowed to wear Support The Boobies type stuff at schools.
My opinion is a lot of people only wear that stuff as an excuse to wear something that says boobies on it and act like its for charity or activism. In this case I stand with these students because boys have had Big Johnson shirts for years and no one goes after them but mention a womens breasts in any way and its STOP THE SMUT!
When we were out looking for a gift, just before coming home, I ran into someone handing out pamphlets. As someone who has been on that side of things I know its not easy but there is a proper way to do it. You ask, you be polite, and you don't bug people. The following is what I tweeted after this encounter: No PETA person I don't want your pamphlet and you being an asshole when I politely said "No thank you" is one example why your group is shit.
To say I don't like PETA is an understatement. They only care about publicity and do as much to help save animals, if not less, as your average slaughter house. Egocentric assholes who hide behind supposed activism to play club house party.
Now for some shameless self-promotion.

11/23/2012 In The Amazon The Evil Of The Red Herring
Just a quick thought
that I expressed on Facebook earlier this week to start things off and see if I
have anything more in length to say about the subject.
I find it interesting
that so many of the writers and editors, some who I respect a great deal, think
Amazon is the core of evil in publishing but don't peep a word when it comes to
big publishers combining or becoming part of a large conglomeration. Seems a
little weak to me.
The whole Amazon is going
to destroy publishing thing has been pissing me since it started. First as I’ve
said many times if the big publishers or big chain bookstores could think
outside their own footsteps they would have created an Amazon before Amazon.
Any situation they may be in is a product of their own shortsightedness.
And it’s kind of
bullshit for people to go after Amazon in defense of the weak, small, helpless
little big publishers. Are you really saying I should feel sorry for them,
really? That’s like saying I should feel sorry for the government when the
fires that been burning for years with them not caring a bit finally reach
their toes.
Anyways, as I’ve also
said before if Amazon is on a course to break the system, then I say let it break
because it’s a system with a very narrow line of sight. Break, crumble, all
fall down, then hopefully be rebuilt better by the people. And if the people once
again allow it to be rebuilt as the same sort of stagnant pile of horseshit
then it will be our own fault there.
Another thought I had
on Facebook that I’d like to maybe explore a little further here.
I like red herrings
in stories, and I'm not just talking about mystery story red herrings. I like
stories that go in dead end directions at times to keep the reader on their
toes thinking or at least play with the reader to keep them sharp.
Maybe it’s just the
writer in me but I lose interest a lot when I can predict the course of things
in a story and it leaves a bad taste in my mind after reading something when I
knew for a long time what was coming.
I can enjoy mindless
simple stories sometimes but for the most part I believe a writer should duel
with the reader, maybe take them to places in thinking they would not have
normally gone.
To update on my
NaNoWriMo book.
Thursday I wrote
6,045 words while watching X-Files all day as a Thanksgiving Day writing sprint.
My NaNoWriMo is currently at 66,047 words and marching on. Hope I can at least
reach 80,000 before the month is over.
I took a break on
Friday to watch Doctor Who related stuff on the 49th Anniversary and
doing more of that today but writing also.
And I’ll end this
short entry with this.
A friend of mine who
is an editor, we were talking about writing and publishing and something got us
talking about writers and their little “Ticks” as she called them.
She said she pictures
writers like Alex from Clockwork Orange in a ludovico apparatus.
I think she was
joking?
I think.

droogs."
I was happy she
included me in the "you all" part because she works with some well
known writers, that was until she said, "But remember even within droogs
there are levels of quality."

Where I talk about Marvel Now, Smashwords, a Kickstarter project, and lots and lots of cool links and one rant.
Also my mind changed to me wishing to write about something that came up yesterday in a conversation with a reader of my stuffs. That person of conversation wasn't the first one to bring this subject up, I get a lot of emails from people when I release a free project to my Smashwords store saying they do't like that they have to create a account with Smashwords, which is free, to download said free projects.
Let me talk for a bit here and hopefully I can address this subject.
The whole having to create an account thing happens because I'm not releasing as free per say but as a You Set The Price! method of payment; which can be free or however much you wish to pay. You can always read the thing for free first and then if you liked and want to pay something by download again and this time pay. A lot of people choice to do it this way and many for the second download were they pay they choose to send that copy as a gift to a friend which you can do now on Smaswords.
The reason this whole thing is better for a writer to do is it gives the creator information on downloads/sales. I need this to know what people like and might like more of from me or others I work with. Raw numbers are still a very valuable tool because so many people don't comment or send emails or anything outside of the download/purchase.
This is especially important when doing ongoing series. Lets say I'm writing two series, which I've been doing, with one I get a lot of responses from readers and the other nothing. You would think the one I get responses for would be the most popular? Not always the case. Take for example Chaos Read and Tin Universe, my two ongoing story series. Tin Universe gets way more emails than Chaos Read which gets hardly any but Chaos Read is downloaded three times more. Now you also have to factor in that one is You Set The Price! and the other is $0.99usd but you get the point in that example which I admit isn't very adapt at all.
Moving on.
The point I'm trying to make is that I factor in all of these things when deciding if people would like to see more of one character or groups of characters or types of stories over another. The best thing to happen would be for every reader to email or leave a comment or post a review but that's not going to happen. Some people might hate it so much they don't even want to talk about it but there are also others who just don't do the whole comment or email thing. I view tons of web shows daily but have only commented twice but I make sure to Like, Tweet, Share, or Dislike things.... though to be honest I never dislike something. If I don't like it I just don't hit Like or anything after viewing.
I know signing up for yet another site sucks. I know if you're purchasing something that means giving another site your credit card information and that sucks, but all of these things help the artists. The process and information gathered through the process is something all independent artist need to learn and use.
With that said I also know this can drive away readers. I know this was a big issue when I left LuLu and I'm still trying to built back that readership.
Things like Smashwords, Kickstarter, LuLu and such are attempts to put more control and money in the hands of the artists who do the work. These systems are nowhere near perfect but they are building to something truly special if we all keep working hard to get it there.
I thought I should mention this since it's come up quite a bit lately. I know when I left LuLu I lost readers but that was a choice because Smashwords offered more to creators in many ways. It's my home right now and I'm working to build that catalog into something that is worth setting up a new account there for.

Where I review Wonder Woman Blood, Star Trek/Doctor Who, and books I'm reading

I didn't even order this book, didn't buy the Previews it was in, but my comic shop knows me, as a good store should know it's regular customers, and they had it in my folder waiting when I came in on Friday.
As with most first issues this was mainly setup. I can always deal with that in a first issue as the same with the first few chapters of a prose story. With that said the second issue is where you grab or lose a reader. So looking forward to what they have ahead for us.
There are six different covers to this first issue so you are sure to find one you like. I liked all of them but as I'm ranted about before, I hate photo covers of any kind, just not my thing.
The story art by Woodward was pretty cool. I liked the look of it for the most part. The only problem you find at times with painted books were the artist has to capture an actors likeness is they sometimes get a look from photo references and a head can look almost cut and pasted onto a body. That may have happen once or twice here but for the most part I really enjoyed the art. It keep the story going and had some really nice touches in places.
So overall I'm a huge Doctor Who fan so I'm going to be picking up the next issue of this story no matter what but even if I wasn't a huge fan of either series they got my interest with good storytelling art, nice setup, and some quick fun off the bat hits. Now the question will be, will this be just be another thrown together crossover or will it be the story so many fans have been waiting so long to see. With the choice of Borg and Cybermen, a truthfully predictable pairing of foes to face, it will take some good twists and mixture of fan wank moments to make this stand out and be what it should be, a classic.

I liked Tony Akins art and would have enjoyed if he had done the artwork throughout the book and the same can be said for Cliff Chiang who is a artist I always love but the change just pulled me out of the story for a bit that keep the stories wheels in a spin for a little space of time and that's never a good thing.
But I will buy Volume Two when it comes out. They sold me to at least check out a few volumes of the series. This is a Wonder Woman I can get behind and recommend to friends.
My local comic shop likes to call this, "The best Vertigo book that isn't a Vertigo book." or something along those lines. I agree but I will also say it's just a great Wonder Woman book period.
I know some people are really upset about the changes that have happen to Wonder Woman's origin and I didn't really like it either but those changes did happen and since they are there lets be happy Brian Azzarello had the skills to use those changes so well to tell his story.
It's hard for fans to deal with big changes but when it comes down to it in comic book reboots you have to look with new eyes. These aren't the characters a lot of us grew up with. It's hard to do sometimes when dealing with a book you may care so much about but otherwise you live only in the past and with the character changes that have always happen in comics at Marvel and DC that's almost impossible and still find enjoyment.
And as I mentioned this might not be the characters but those weren't the characters my brothers or my father grew up with either. Some changes might hurt and piss us off more as fans but the changes are a constant flow from DC and always have been.
Also I want to say I want my Wonder Woman this way. I want her carrying a sword. I want blood in her stories. I want centaurs losing their heads. Don't give me a Wonder Woman who lets Batman and Superman preach to her when she had the courage and guts to break a mans neck to save lives. She's a warrior, not a superhero.
And on the issue of hardcovers because when am I not ranting about hardcovers. I still hate the fact that DC has released so many of the New 52 collections in hardcovers but I guess I "threw my fan boy morals away" and when I picked this up. Someone said those words to me through a DM message on Twitter. But don't worry Fan Boy Gods, it's probably going to be the last time I do so. No more backsliding for me. I'm a huge long time comic book fan so I do stuff like that, impulse buys, but I still think DC is operating counter to their goal of attracting new readers by these hardcovers.

*I'm still reading this but if you want to know about the series check out this write up on Geektress. One of my favorite pop culture websites. I'm a slow reader so its not any sort of judgment if it takes me a long time to finish a book. I really like this series and if you like urban heroes like The Punisher and Daredevil I'd say check this out.
Drift by Rachel Maddow
*I'm a slow reader normally, even more so with non-fiction but this is one of the best non-fiction books I've read in a really long time. As I've said so many times Rachel Maddow is one of the few News people in the mainstream media I can listen to.
How To Archer by Sterling Archer
*Funny as shit. If you like the show, check out this book. The writer did a good job of capturing Sterling Archer's voice with this book. Some funny as crap fucked up stuff in here but you can't do Archer without that. Now what I want is a book by Pam.

To end off this limited series and also to help to try and catch up with the single issue comic reviews I need to do I’m combining my reviews for issues #3 and #4.
I might combine more single issues in the future also when I review them as I tend to only go to the comic shop maybe once a month. But with the new DC relaunch books coming out I'll try to read, review, and post those reviews as I get the books.
In my review for the second issue of this Doctor Who limited series I talked about how I had hoped this story as it entered its pay off issues of 3 & 4 would have a lot more to offer up because as it was its course was very standard sci-fi. It did improve but for the most part only by a duck on the head measure. Read #3 and you will get that joke and it was one of the few really creative things I found in this story.
The biggest star of these last two issues and this limited series in total is Amy Pond. The writer did a pretty good job with writing her and capturing the onscreen character.
The characterization of the Doctor though is very hit and miss throughout the series but that’s true also in the history of people writing the Doctor for comics.
I really enjoyed a lot of the Doctor Who one-shots IDW put out in the past and feel this story would have been better suited to a one-shot. I think it would have turned out more compact and more streamlined.
But the next test will be when I buy the trade and read this story as a whole because sometimes my view of a story changes when I’m able to sit down and read the story as one thought.

It’s been a while since I reviewed #1 of this 4 Part limited series but as part of my trying to review as many comics as possible here we go. And since I have a dedicated three people who always ask me about writing more Doctor Who related reviews, I shall try to do more on that front, I promise, I really mean it.
Part 2 of A Fairytale Life sees the Doctor and Amy meeting some of the major players in the story. From dogheaded guards to a Knight with a sudden out of character sense of humor. By the end of the story the story finally really gets rolling so here to hoping Parts 3 & 4 pay off what the first 2 parts of this limited series setup.
This story seems to be leading down the old sci-fi road of medical technology out of hand trying to follow its programming to a extreme. What will separate it from being just another story along those lines is the reasons why it got to this point and how the Doctor deals with it.
So far A Fairytale Life reminds me a lot of the classic Doctor Who story The Androids of Tara but I might just be reading too much into the technology mixed with medieval feel.
Again, the first two issues are setup. Lets see with issue #3 if this story starts to lead to some payoff because right now its just a tie-in book to a television series with no unique nature of its own.

REVIEW: Torchwood Miracle Day - The New World

Without any new Doctor Who right now I decided to fill my TV reviewing void with the new Torchwood series; so just like the first episode of this season of Doctor Who, my first review of this series of Torchwood ends up being posted later than I wanted to.

This series of Torchwood has a buzz about it because it will be co-produced by STARZ an American movie channel network. The buzz I think is mostly filled by a lot of people expecting to hate it from the beginning; which I'm sure a lot of people will just based on those feelings.
I'm hoping the show will be good not just because I enjoyed previous series of Torchwood nor because of its Doctor Who tie-in but mainly becaue Mar really liked Torchwood and its a Doctor Who connection we can share. She enjoys Doctor Who and will watch it if its on and I'm watching it but Torchwood has been a series she has enjoyed.
And not just because of the hot boy on boy action.
But she loves that too.
So do I :)
This show is one of the few reasons we are keeping the movie channels. Matter of fact we never watch movies on these channels and only the TV series they are showing, stuff like Weeds, Game Of Thrones, Treme, Shameless, and now Torchwood. I just pray STARZ does a better job with Torchwood than another US channel did with The Prisoner. Great casting but shame on you American TV, shame.
I have enjoyed all of the seasons of Torchwood. I know a lot of people who either loved the first season and hate the second or the reverse. Children Of Earth seems to have an extreme like or extreme hate connection to it. I loved it. Mar loved it. The cats are in the middle.

And all of that leads us to Miracle Day- The New World.
The new opening titles sequence were cool, simple, but I liked. I think they needed to make a change because of this season being a fresh start but they keep enough of the feel of the past series music and sound effects to remind you of the previous seasons.
After watching for a bit Mar commented, "I don't know if I like this."
Me, "You just don't like that their hasn't been any boy on boy action yet?"
Mar, "I miss Yonto."
Sad faces all around in the apartment.
And that's a good sign when Mar is talking about a show when watching it because she normally starts reading in the middle of shows if she has no interest; so commenting at all is a good sign that she might keep watching.
I have to say I think this first episode of this series is stuck between a rock and a hard place with how they have to approach all the returning characters because on one side you want to make it appeal to American audiences who haven't seen the show before but at the same time you can't ignore the past and old fans will expect little hints and comments about the past they know. I think this first episode balanced that out the best they could.
As with a lot of first episodes are all setup and you have to have that in mind when discussing them. I've talked about this before in past reviews so I wont dive deep into it here but its worth remembering that in a ongoing series of stories the first chapter will probably not knock you out of your seat. It can do both setup and knock you off your ass but that pretty rare.
I think with this series they have a good group of characters, with a good group of actors, that have the ingredients of making a very good series out of what I know about the overall story.
