THE TITLE IS: WRITER WHINNING WOBBLE
I need artists to do character sketches, covers, and interior artwork for some projects I have in the works. The problem is at the moment I do not have the money to hire anyone and before anyone asks no, I don't want anything done for free. I don't work that way, I appreciate when people offer but I know the work that goes into a peice of art and I would feel awful not paying for it. This though is one of the few times when I say I wish I was a writer of "name" value and thus I could trade a comic script to an artist, a film script, a short story, or a book in exchange for artwork finished. Artists can do deals for things that writers can not do unless they are a writer of "name" value and I hate doing the "quotes" thing but that's how it was translated in my head. I have a friend who is a tattoo artist who does this all the time. Another friend who paints and she is always trading art for things. Anyone want an original poem or short story written for a loved one's birthday or holiday gift? I'm ranting because I haven't had a soda yet today but I mean what I ranted about. It was a process, thinking rant, now I'm off to do dishes.

THE TITLE IS: AB FAB BAT AND NOW BLONDE
I did not get much writing done yesterday or today for that matter. I mostly just did some hand scratchings and looked through the Previews catalog for this month. I did these Herc..Hercu.....well, you know, those types of hard tasks while watching british comdies from my collection. Man, me and time managment, we are not snuggle bunnies that's for sure. I work so much better with deadlines and before anyone says it, yes I try to set my own deadlines but it doesn't work the same way into my brain.
Though during all the Ab Fab jokes and wishful window shopping through Previews an idea popped into my head that would be a shade of a King Arthur sort of short story. I think this is turning out as my year of pleasuring my short story muses. Poor dears, they have waited so paitenly for such a long time. Oh, and my Muses are in no way all female. Just thought I would mentioned that. One of these days I'm going to give some love to the Muse in charge of my spelling abilities but right now I think she is locked up in some sort of place of rest for having to deal with me.
...scribble, scribble, scribble....sigh...I need better drugs. I need drugs. Just kidding...I can't afford drugs. Caffeine, sugar, PM's, I need a bloody trank to get me to sleep after using everything else that I can get at a 7-11 to get me through my days. My health is like a rollercoster of feeling like shit and feeling good. I need something like Redbull to keep me awake and for someone to invent something called Deadbull maybe to help me sleep.

THE TITLE IS: THE THING THAT IS ME
There are so many things I wish I could do right now but can not because of choices I have made in my life. These things go from the simple wish of just being able to smile without self hate to being able to give currency to charities who need it desperately. These choices I have made have been good ones and bad ones. Unfortunately most have been somewhere between good and bad and within that greyness it shows my willingness for my life to be a quote of, survival. I have not been a bad person in my times of survival, Hell, I believe myself to be a pretty good friend when friends need me, Not a half bad lover, and all employers if they were forced to be honest would have to speak of my hard edged goal of working harder than anyone else even if I was not in a position where I needed to do so.
In my survival I have been honest, non-apothecial, reliable, and when I was in Canada I tried to keep the Queens peace.
I survived. My childhood was about illness and my adult life has been about survival through my stupidest actions, my stubbornness to be something not like the others, through my lack of lack of control of my personal demons. I keep pretending survival meant something. I never spoke up for myself unless I had to and unless it was a forced situation that really called for it I rarely did so for others. I stood days and nights and sleeping thoughts and I gave piety towards the face in the mirror for being such a good bastard at being a continued existence mannequin.
A few months ago, almost a year ago actually I quit my day job. I hated the way the company did business; I hated how they treated employees… Fuck! Shit…they treated me like crap when they found out they could bring me to my knees to keep my job… … … The job did pay well though, I got vacation days, and bills got paid with left over cash. All I had to do was continue to survive. I took action on a normal day that surviving was not good enough anymore and I quit. I was feed up and I walked away.
Ani Difranco has a song were she wrote, “I have better things to do than survive.”
Last night I was in bed with Wave as she started to drift off into sleep. I do not want things to be hard for her. I want to be strong enough to help us have a life that does not depend on due days… is being a man about… is being a good person about… when does a man have to choose to just… I choose not to just survive? Why? Now months later I am having a hard time finding a new job. My former employer I’m told has been trashing me in the local industry that I was in and I really wouldn’t mind because I really hated that sort of work after almost five years doing it but… …But I have been told by a lot of possible potential employers that they will not hire me because of my bad teeth which I do not have the money to have fixed right now. They will not hire me to be a manager, a cashier, stock boy, sandwich maker, stock girl, or even dishwasher. I guess I need a nice smile to shine in the plates but… My health is failing also, it maybe the teeth causing it, or maybe it is that all those years of just surviving has finally caught up with me…
…but I will survive and I hate myself with a passion for that.

THE TITLE IS: Old News Still Pisses Me Off
Bush Urges Approval of New Spying Bill & Telecom Immunity
Bush also urged lawmakers to approve a new surveillance bill that would grant immunity to telecom companies that aided warrantless spying on U.S. citizens.
President Bush: “This means that if you do not act by Friday, our ability to track terrorist threats would be weakened and our citizens will be in greater danger. The Congress must ensure the flow of vital intelligence is not disrupted. The Congress must pass liability protection for companies believed to have assisted in the efforts to defend America. We have had ample time for debate. The time to act is now.”
I know this is old news but me being pissed off is not. I found the link saved for some reason in my bookmarks. My mind was telling me to scream and I got sidetracked I do think.
To give immunity to large corperations who are probably doing everything the goverment wants them to anyways is just bullshit. And yes bullshit is my articulate stance. This anal probe into the freedoms we enjoy like Mr. Bush's signing statements are not only a cowardice way of covering their own backs from the fists of the people they say they serve, it is actually also them saying we know what we are doing is illegal and maybe even immoral but let me cover my ass in case there is still a justice system around in a few years.

Thanks to Mar and P who have left comments of late. And thanks also to all who visit. Work has been Hell of late but see above for that. I have not been a good blogger or writer with all the stress of everything else in my life.
Geek Speak:
I have been reading about the big Marvel event Civil War the whole time it was coming out in monthly installments and yesterday I picked up the first two trades. I have to say I really like what they are doing here. I think if a lot of the negative people who are negative no matter what the publishers and creators do would just chill and look around they would find that Marvel, DC, and many other publishers are doing some interesting and creative work. I think in today’s comic market you can find something no matter what your tastes are. Oh, and I think the characterizations of Iron Man and Captain America where spot on no matter what the internet critics say. Tony Stark is an ass and always has been and Captain America is a man of action and sometimes you may be really strong in your beliefs and your beliefs maybe even correct but not based in reality.
And though I only buy trades and not monthly comics, that only has turned into an butBuffy. The new Buffy comic which is in canon and continues after the last season has me hooked. I picked up the 2nd issue and could not even wait to read it when I got home. I read it at work during a break. Already loving this series beyond words and the writers Joss Whedon has lined up for it I think will keep me buying until it ends. Dam you Joss Whedon, pulled me back into the monthly fold.
I put in links to Amazon for information but always remember to support local comic shops and bookstores. Even if they are big chain stores those are your neighbors and loved ones who work there.
Here is the full trailer for Fantastic Four: The Rise Of The Silver Surfer. Since I actually enjoyed the first movie while most did not it seems this one looks a hundred times better and has me pumped. I’ve always liked The FF more than Spidey so even though I enjoy the Spiderman movies and will see the new one, I’m more excited about this movie and the Iron Man film in development. Speaking of which. With the cast they have for this I think it will be a good movie.
Oh, and since last I blogged more than a few sentences they announced Season Three of Doctor Who would be on Sci-Fi Channel starting in July. Though, I wish they would do more promotion and stuff with the series and happy it is back on Sci-Fi. I think it would be a bigger hit in the US if they did a little more for it but that’s America for you. Promote shit as long as it was made here but something from any other country barley gets a mention outside a few commercials.
Back To Reality:
The short story has grown just a tad bit so I’m giving it a little extra attention for the 1st Draft. I really like how it is turning out. In a much more positive mood about me writing right now so lets now let that slip is what I keep saying to myself.
The book will re-enter my life this weekend.
Welcome back friend.
Now lets kick some ass.

Lawmakers in Oklahoma have sent the state's governor a bill that has been described as one of the most sweeping anti-immigrant laws in the country. The bill would make it a felony in Oklahoma for anyone to harbor or transport people they know to be undocumented immigrants. Violators of the law could be punished by up to a year in jail. Critics of the bill say it could result in the jailing of medical staff and religious workers who offer aid to undocumented immigrants.

Oklahoma Lawmakers OK Bill to Outlaw Aiding Undocumented Immigrants
Lawmakers in Oklahoma have sent the state's governor a bill that has been described as one of the most sweeping anti-immigrant laws in the country. The bill would make it a felony in Oklahoma for anyone to harbor or transport people they know to be undocumented immigrants. Violators of the law could be punished by up to a year in jail. Critics of the bill say it could result in the jailing of medical staff and religious workers who offer aid to undocumented immigrants.
