LINKS LIKE A GARDEN

I fell asleep in the living room watching Big Bang Theory but was shocked awake by a cat going nuts in the kitchen. I just thought it was Salem going nuts playing as he does sometimes but I got up to tell him to, "Stop It!" and found him standing over what looked liked in the bad lighting of our apartment to be a cricket, do they even have crickets in Florida? but instead I found it to be a huge spider, a spider the size of a silver dollar. I hate spiders, Wave doesn't care for them much either, but the spider motif pops up over and over again in my writing, which people will see as soon as I get more fiction out into the world. Here is hoping 2010 is better than 2009 was. Though 2009 was not that bad with all the poetry collections I released but I'm moving on to the links portion of this blog entry. As I always do when I do long entries I apologize to those on my Live Journal feed because of the length of this entry but I post in several places at once and thus the "live journal cut" is not used by this hack. Sorry for violating protocol.

I should tell my own border stories at some point as I always get stopped crossing the border between the U.S. and Canada but for now because those stories are really long here are some links to recent stoppages that have crossed my view of knowing. Amy Goodman of Democracy Now was stopped and mostly questioned about what she was planning to say about the upcoming Vancouver Olympics. When I read about this I first thought, if you were going to stop Amy Goodman and question her about her activities, her talking about the Olympics wouldn't be my first thought to ask her about? That part of the story just seemed strange to me. More on the story with a little from Keith Olbermann. Though to be honest he gets on my nerves the same way Glenn Beck does but from the liberal side of things. I didn't care for him when he was on ESPN either, all look at me I'm a sportscaster...made my ears hurt at times.
Then you have writerPeter Watts. Here are more links here and here on what happen to him while trying to go home to Canada.
I will finish the border talk to tell you being stopped, singled out, is frightening and nerve wrecking. My experiences with border officers are that they are pushing for you to push back and it takes a lot to keep from either mouthing off or just asking why, both will be considered aggressive by them by the way. I don't know all the details of what happen to Amy Goodman or Peter Watts, my experiences were my own as is both of theirs, but this is not new. The actions of border agents is almost without approach as to their actions unless you are a "name." Lets hope these two cases shine some light on how a lot of people are treated by border officials from both countries.

Is it difficult to write well about sex?
I really don't have problems writing sex scenes but when I make revisions and cuts I tend to cut those. I don't think I'm censoring myself as much as I want the scenes to be titillating to the reader but find my writing of sex boring and only good in a way because I go places I think some writers wouldn't go outside of erotica. And no I don't think wishing to make sex scenes titillating means I'm trying to write porn. Nothing wrong with porn in idea though but that is a large topic in and of itself.

YOU WISH FOR AN ENTRY

But I give you links and little rants.

cell phone records
They are considering firing people? If I'm not mistken didn't they fire the people right off when something semilar happen to Paris Hilton? Shouldn't this be alarming when the man has gotten death threats in the past and people are braking into his personal data?.......

................................................

or just one link since I've been searching online for something interesting and nothing is catching my degraded brain.

What I will miss the most is how much he seemed to care about trying to make a good show. Plus, he sexey.

'Ugly ducklings'
Sometimes I think I was lucky that I didn't get the male brain, I like my female brain. Though it's low grade in all respects at least my tongue stays in place and when it runs, I stand by what it says.

Sounds like an idea for a book I think.

Boy Bras
I may need one soon :(

$25 billion loan
How can a companies ask for money when they sat around in their 8thousand dollar chairs for years yelling, "America good!" as a progresive sales plan and not inproving their product; while the rest of the world left them in the dust. It's a shame if people lose their jobs but the American car industry has had their heads up their own asses for decades.
And how come a fucking billion dollar company can get loans from the goverment when small company has to blow all of the old boys of congress to get a hi?

Bush signs bill
Does me no good considering they turned me down because I quit a company that was mistreating employees, acting in sexist and racist hiring actions, and Hey, they even canceled a check on me once because I wanted a weekend off. But I was wrong for quiting, I should have gotten fired, firing for some reason is better. I should have invested in a good case of chasing them down through a Wal-Mart parking lot and running them over with road rage, that's what I should have done.

See what coffee does to me.

THE POWER OF GHOSTS FLY ME

So what has been going on in my world of late?
Well, locally someone set off some sort of jar or pipe bomb at the local community college a few days ago or was it weeks ago? Times flies when you are being emo.
Wave’s sister watched someone from her school get hit by a car. Cheerleader with drama at eleven.
Wave was threatened by someone after they almost hit her trying to avoid a speed bump and she told them they need to watch where they’re going; so, they threatened her. I went off at the complex office about how dangerous people drive within the complex grounds. I think sometimes Wave thinks this sort of things doesn’t anger me but it does, beyond measure, but I have to keep my cool or random stupid people will get targeted instead of specific stupid people. But if I could, I wouldn’t mind really running these people over, not with a car, just a golf cart, a few times.
My world has been writing, dishes, writing, depression, trash, writing, Xbox, depression, writing, Xbox, dvds, writing, cat boxes, library book sales, trash, cat boxes, hotel sex, writing, writing, and writing. Oh, and I finally got up the courage and watched the Dukes Of Hazzard movie. Poor movie, it sucked so much it was sad.
While Wave was in Tampa for a class I picked up a writing book from the U.S.F. library that I really enjoyed. It’s titled- Getting The Words Right: 39 Ways To Improve Your Writing by Theodore A. Rees Cheney. I’m really enjoying this book on writing when I usually hate books about writing. The best thing is the points that so many books bring up is hitting home with me. It’s a book about Revision which all writers cuddle like a child, me very much so, and the older I get, the older I get, and the more I see what a creative joy editing and revising can give a writer after you get through ALL THE FUCKING HARD WORK.
Oh, and for those who in the past enjoyed my ranting and raving about political issues and have emailed me asking why they never see those types of entries anymore? Well, for my own health in getting things done I’m staying away for the most part from ranting and raving in my writing, unless in the body of my incoherent hack books. Love you peeps for saying you enjoyed it when I discussed issues but since so much of the world is just simply disgusting in it bigotry, racism, sexism, and moneyism(could be a word some day?) I don’t want to distract my writing by feeding it spoiled foods.
Second “Oh” I know most of my writing is a little ranty and raving like but maybe for now I will just bore people with stories of my obsession with all things Doctor Who(I’m 20 dvds behind for my collection and god those new figures are cool) my endless tales of trying and trying and trying even those quite a few people say I should give up, face reality, and my over usage of the library system in putting things on hold which poor Wave lugs home when they come in from the other libraries.
Speaking of my lady love, I needed Neil Gaiman’s new book, a must need to add to my collection. Must satisfy my desires….wait no, not desires… how about wishes or requirements? Use a wrong word and everything goes haywire, a writing lesson learned. Well, to move on from my “ranting” Wave purchased it for me today. I love the lady.

THE TITLE IS: THAT WAS SHORT?

I will try and make this a quick entry but it will not be, but, so, that is how my brain spins as it starts the thinking process. I cleaned out out the links in my bookmarked to read later and now I need to clean out my brain because the world is a dirty dirty toaster of unhumanity. Yes, I typed "unhumanity", get over it, it's my word.

I'm knee deep in several writing projects and deciding which one I should drown myself in to get it out into the world. Will it be the detective story? Will it be the YA book I'm waiting to hear back from a writing partner about? Will it be the next book in the Tin Universe PDF Series? Or will it be something I just make up on the fly and go from page one to The End, from one thought to the last without thinking? Who knows, but I do need to make that choice fast because floating around from one book to another makes me sort of feel like a....I don't know, unwashed politician out for cash?

I counted up and last year I wrote 39863words that ended up as completed works. Not a very good number and though some of these stories were written last year, they did not appear until this year for others to read. The year started off good with Stereo my first completed book, which can be downloaded for the low low price of $4.00. I know some people do not consider that published but if a webcomic can be considered published, then why can't a webbook? So I didn't kill a tree family for it live, sue me.
Then off to a submission to a short story collection that was rejected. At the same time I left my old job and thus emo moments followed. I really need to get back into the submission grove again. My problem is everything I start work on I think could be a book and I have to get over that insanity.
After the short story came Deeper Roses To Fall which was a old small story I pulled out, re-looked-at and you can down load it for free. It's sort of a romance story.
Next we have Mexican Coffee which is another brief story, this one set in the universe where basically all of my self-published stories will exist. This was a experiment gone crazy into some writers madness of writers canon wank. Believe me that is the only way to describe it.
And we will leave last year behind with my failed ongoing chapter series According To Testing which was a free pdf series with a chapter added to it each week. I may return to this some day but not now.

I mention all of this not to pimp my writing though if you want to pay money for anything related to me go here. N.A.V.L.P. is still in its beta stages online but it all goes to a good cause with the attacks happening on our library systems during these bad financial times we need more projects to help out. Just remember library services are for the most part free and without them a lot of people will never find the joy of reading, internet usage, movies, or community. No matter what in my life, I will be happy if this project turns out to be something special to the world around me daily.

Now off to turn the air on, do dishes, and do some writing.

THE TITLE IS: TRAINING AND TRAVELING

I'm not going to write out a long post about the trip. You can follow some of my thoughts over at my Tumblr and I just deleted all the double posts its created so it will be easier to follow. But here I will give you more photos and a few thoughts from them. Basically it was a good get away for us for a few days in Jacksonville.

The first hotel I ever shared with a couch. I have been in much larger ones and more costly but never one with a couch. The thing was almost as big as my first apartment though.

All of my shit tends to take up table and floor space. The boots are mine also. Wave ends up with all of her stuff on her night table beside her side of the bed and in the floor. I'm such a pack rat even when traveling.

CABLE! Back when we had cable one of our favorite shows was Myth Busters and that is what is on in this picture.

One hotel bed, slightly used and abused.

On our way home and if you look closly you will see a Stewey without his head. I'm such a boy sometimes.

When we got into Melbourne we stopped for food and at the comic shop. Here the cats are after Wave's food. Her sister house sat and feed them while we where gone.

RedBull, Doctor Who#3, and food for my fat ass.

He loves me even if I'm fat.

THE TITLE IS: WHAT WILL BE THE LOGO ON MY TOMBSTONE....MAYBE STARBUCKS?

I have 15 books on hold at the library. If all of those come in at once and Wave has to lug them all home to me she will kick my ass.

I love all things Neil Gaiman and can not wait until this movie comes out. Scroll down and you will find the YouTube version if your computer is like ours and does not do video files sometimes in a way that is best to our viewing pleasures.

And since I posted a link to one video file here is another to an interview with Jeff Smith the creator of Bone.

If I only had a brain...Oh, no, I meant if I only had cash in my bank account.

A very talented Giants fan created this Tin Universe logo for me. His name is Vinny Bove and you can check out his talent further at his website. I wanted something a little flank and 1980's computers sort of like the Hitchhikers logo that that Douglas Adams hated for his book series. I like this sort of thing for the Tin Universe since it is a my take on superheroes but done with with a heart of insanity within it. And if you have not seen the Hitchhikers logo I speak of go here.

Remember just because you do not know who you are, that is no excuse for not being who you are,

THE TITLE IS: TELL ME I'M A BAD MAN AND KICK ME LIKE A STRAY

I have spent the past few days trying to clean up the apartment, to make force with a heavey spiked hammer more productive habits into my days, and generally trying to make my inner spirit match my inner desires.

Things I've read or watched recently: Speak was a good little movie lead by a strong Kristen Stewart in the lead though in film this story comes off as just a above par made for tv movie. I recommend the book more than the movie. Watched while writing Stripes, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, and the middle two and the best of the Jack Ryan movies.

Also read from the library Clubbing. A good quick read but I still think the comic industry is losing money thinking the only thing female readers want to read is manga clones. I also read Superman: Infinite Crisis.

I checked out All-Star Superman: Vol. 1. Grant Morrison hits the mark again and this is one of the best group of Superman stories I have ever read. I think Morrison gets it. The reason the old Superman stories worked was not all punch ups and showing off of Superman. It was mixing Superman with scifi and the way off weird that makes the character shine and boy does it here.

Typed up the next chapter of According To Tests or testing? Still haven't decided which way to go from here on with the title. Though since this is fun and getting a story out of my system I can take my time.

Long hightlighed link up there wasn't it? Sorry...

Tomorrow I will be doing more laundry, cleaning more, work on the short story that will be appearing in April or May, and also working on the short story collection for The Tin Universe series. Diving back into putting more stories I've written onto computer files.(have tons of stacks...I mean it, tons, ask Wave.)

Remember not knowing who you are is no excuse for not being who you are,
C.

TITLED IS: MY SCIENTIFIC THEORY OUR LEADERS ARE little snip snips!

The last day before my weekend off. Hell, it feels like I’m taking this huge vacation when its only two days but I don’t think I’ve had a day off in months. At least it seems like months.

From work whining to responses to comments left:

Robbin,
-I felt like a cartoon that night typing on three computers. Insane I tell you, insane. Now I’m down to only two which is still crazy but at least I only need to spin my chair to go from one to the other.
-The main reason I have problems with John McCain is he went one way as a politician and when that did not work he now is trying to go the other and I just see that like someone bouncing off one drawn on the wall door to the other drawn on the wall door. You are still not getting anywhere no matter how many doors your fabricate with crayon.
-I really myself, just personally do not see any difference between the kind of faith in theory and that in the religious kind. People are filling in opinions where there is only black spots of nothing to get were you are going and sometimes as in religion you put in what you want to get you where you wish to be.
And I disagree that Scientific theories are based on empirical evidence, experiments, and fact. Maybe those on this Earth when we deal with things we can touch and see up close but we have no idea about how the rest of the universe works in my opinion until we actually are there in these places physically and until then we go from what we know as fact, add faith, and stir into a theory.
Religion though I do think would fall closer to comparing to history than science because a lot of religion is based off some historical facts. History is as you said only as accurate as whoever is keeping the records, just like the saying the winner writes the history books. Is not science though only as accurate as who’s theories are believed over others? And what tomorrow will bring us as to new discoveries?
Just remember though I flunked most of my science classes or barley passed them so you are way ahead of me on this stuff. Just my thoughts. Oh, and I believe we live in a series of trans-dimensional realities so none of this really matters because in each reality you will find new sets of ourselves and laws when it comes to life, the universe, and everything. :)

Thanks for the comments Robbin and anyone else who leaves comments or sends me e-mails thank you very much. As always if you feel a need to rant, rave, or just say hello you can e-mail me at: hangofwednesday@gmail.com

Geek Speak:

Outpost Gallifrey
I always wanted a Doctor Who scraf :(

Back To Reality:

Printed off what I have on the novella last night as I do with a story every few chapters so I can look it over and plan out what my next couple of steps will be. Going to do some mad writing over the weekend between times of just vegging and Wave kicking my ass for being lazy and not having work for a excuse. I promise to take out the garbage at least once over the weekend….I’ll try at least to remember to…though I know..I know…It must be so frustrating to live with me. I know it is for me…to live with me.

And In The News:

Falwell's Statements On Global Warming
Evangelical Christian leader Jerry Falwell came out swinging against global climate change over the weekend, telling his congregation in Virginia that naive Christians are being duped into believing the phenomenon is actually happening.
WMFE
Did I ever tell you I have met Mr. Jerry Falwell. Did I ever tell you I refused to shake his hand while my papa, a preacher himself gave me a look that could kill. I think I was around 15 at the time. He never took me anywhere with me again which was fine with me. Never thought he treated my mom and dad right.

Ex-Rep. Ney Reports to Prison
And finally, former Republican Congress member Bob Ney has reported to prison to begin a thirty-month sentence. Ney was convicted for lying about his dealings with convicted Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff. For years, Ney traded his political influence for gifts, vacations, campaign contributions and, in one case, fifty thousand dollars in gambling chips. He will serve his jail term in a minimum security prison in West Virginia.
Democracy NOW!
I think they may have went too hard on him. God, I need a vacation from this country. I need a trip back to Canada soon, I miss it.

And lets end with this. My friend Robin and I keep having his debate because I do not believe in blackholes and she is a scientist lady. But after me saying I did not believe in blackholes she left me this comment which literally made me do a spit take.
You're passing by a singularity. You get sucked in. As you're being torn apart at the event horizon, you yell, "Robbin was right! Unfortunately, in space, no one can hear me concede!"

Written at the pay the rent job,
C.
